We live in an extraordinary time of systemic change, in which discordance and disharmony open an era of illuminated crisis. Individuals worldwide are waking, not only to the wider up-swell, but to the voices of their own heart that feel the possibility of living in a different way, with consciousness, empathy, compassion – braiding new alliances with the earth, bringing ingenuity and care to the way we might live removed from the daily economic assault, and offering our animal bodies a deeper expression.
As artists and makers we are urged by writer Ursula le Guin, to be artists who can “remember freedom - poets, visionaries - realists of a larger reality”.
Making our work from a deep rooted connection to land is one of the pathways to that widening. We believe in the importance of having a sanctuary and home away from the city to cut off, to dissolve, to slow down, to listen. This place can be a monastery of the soul, a cave or forest, within which individuals can gather together away from society and connect deeply: to listen, work creatively and evolve.
'The Gathering' residencies are based in the Forest of Dean, an area of rich history and endless forest.
